87 Crónicas Provinciales RESUMEN Quedan aquí recogidas algunas breves pinceladas de cuanto se ha podido lograr, siendo consciente de que, a través del tiempo, logren aflorar más datos que otro investigador pudiera conseguir y agregarlos aquí enriqueciendo su contenido. La biografía casi completa de algunos privilegiados en las diversas artes ya se ha publicado, resaltando ahora sólo algunas instantáneas menos conocidas; pero dado el vanguardismo tecnológico que hoy nos invade y que ha confinado a la mayoría de los oficios artesanales, ha originado que el prosista de esta tesis pretenda amasar algo de historia sobre ciertas artesanías ya disipadas como es la pintura, escultura, ebanistería y talla sobre madera, en piedra, escayola o en otros soportes que se iniciaron en Don Benito (Badajoz), oficios artísticos que antaño fueron impulsados por los diversos alumnos, que en muchos casos igualaron a sus maestros, que también en su día fueron discípulos de otros expertos. Los dominadores de una determinada destreza poseen vinculación estrecha con otra semejante, dándose este hecho en el tallista-escultor que muy bien puede conocer la pintura figurativa y la ebanistería, aplicando en ella sus preciados trabajos, siendo el único protagonista el dominio imperativo del dibujo artístico y el lineal; circunstancias éstas, que portaban algunos privilegiados recogidos en esta descripción que también aglutina los primorosos trabajos que virtuosos foráneos dejaron en Don Benito, a la vez que otros artistas dombenitenses afincados en otras geografías dejaron muy alto el bastión de nuestra ciudad. ABSTRACT Collected here are some brief brushstrokes of what has been achieved, being aware that, over time, it can bring out details that other researchers could get and add them here enriching its content. The most complete biography of a few privileged artists in the various arts has been published, now highlighting just some less known works; but given the technological vanguard before us invade and that has confined most crafts, it has resulted that the writer of this thesis seeks to amass some history of certain crafts, today dissipated, as painting, sculpture, woodwork and carving on wood, stone, plaster or other material began in Don Benito (Badajoz), artistic professions that were once driven by various students, who in many cases matched to their teachers, who also once were disciples of other experts. The rulers of a particular skill have close links with other similar ones, realizing this fact in the carver-sculptor, who may well know the figurative painting and woodwork, applying his precious work in it, being the only protagonist the imperative domain of artistic and lineal design; circumstances that some privileged artists carried out and also encompasses the exquisite work that virtuous outsiders left in Don Benito, while other artists of this city, settled in other geographies, left high bastion of our city.
